Disability Equipment Installation & Servicing in Sydney & the Sutherland Shire

We install and service the equipment that makes a building work for the people in it — automatic doors, ceiling hoists, nurse and assistance call, hearing loops and home automation. One contractor holds both NSW licences, so the door operator, the call point and the circuit that runs them are signed off by the same team.

Our crews work in day surgeries, GP practices, and private and public hospitals — and in private homes for people living with disability. Infection control, live clinical areas and after-hours windows are routine for us, not something we learn on your site.

Self-managing or plan-managed under the NDIS? You can book us directly. We work from your OT's recommendation, quote itemised so your plan manager can approve it line by line, and coordinate with your support coordinator so the job is done once, properly. If your plan is NDIA-managed, the NDIS requires a registered provider — call us and we'll tell you straight whether we can help.

What's included

  • Automatic swing and sliding door operators, accessible-toilet privacy door systems, and push-button or touchless activation
  • Ceiling hoist and track systems — structural check before install, load test at handover, annual inspection after
  • Nurse call and assistance call — accessible-toilet alarms, consult-room and bedside call points
  • Hearing augmentation — counter loops at reception, room loops for waiting and meeting areas
  • Dedicated power for hoists, care beds and power-chair charging, with RCD protection
  • Home automation for independent living — remote door release, video intercom, lighting, blinds and air-con control

How we work

  1. Free site visit

We look at the doorways, the ceiling, the switchboard and how the room is actually used, and we talk to whoever specifies the equipment — practice manager, facilities team or OT. Free within 100 km of Caringbah.

  2. Itemised quote

Equipment, installation, electrical work and certification each on their own line, so a practice owner, a hospital purchasing officer or a plan manager can approve exactly what they are paying for.

  3. Install, test and certify

Installed to the manufacturer's instructions and the relevant Australian Standards, then tested before handover — hoists load-tested, door safety settings checked, loops measured. A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued for the licensed electrical work.

  4. Service schedule

Hoists need inspecting at least once a year, and door operators wear like any machine. We put your equipment on a schedule so it is checked before it fails, not after.

Compliance & licensing

Accessibility work sits across several standards, and we work to all of them: AS 1428.1 for access and mobility, AS 1428.5 for hearing augmentation, AS 5007 for powered doors and AS/NZS ISO 10535 for hoists, alongside the access provisions of the National Construction Code. The right height, force or field strength depends on the site, so we work it out on the site rather than quoting a number over the phone.

Bioni Security & Electrical holds NSW Electrical Contractor Licence 350318C and NSW Security Master Licence 000108088. Door operators, call systems and access control are security work; the circuits behind them are electrical work. Holding both means one contractor installs, certifies and answers for the lot.

What moves the price

Every job is quoted itemised after a free site visit. What moves the number:

  • The equipment — door operator, hoist, call system or loop amplifier — and the brand you or your OT specify
  • Structure — a ceiling that needs reinforcing for a hoist track, or a door and frame that need work before they can be automated
  • Power — whether there is a spare circuit at the board or a new one has to be run
  • Occupied sites — clinical areas, after-hours windows and infection-control requirements
  • Integration — tying doors, call points and alarms into access control or an existing nurse call system

Building or renovating? Bring us in before the plasterboard goes on — cabling and ceiling reinforcement cost far less while the walls and ceilings are open.

Frequently asked

Can I use my NDIS funding to book you?
Yes, if your plan is self-managed or plan-managed — the NDIS lets those participants choose providers who are not NDIS-registered for home modifications and assistive technology. We work from your OT's recommendation and quote itemised for your plan manager. If your plan is NDIA-managed, the NDIS requires a registered provider.
Do you install ceiling hoists in homes as well as hospitals?
Yes — homes, clinics and hospitals. Every install starts with a check of the ceiling structure, reinforced and certified by an engineer where needed, and finishes with a load test at the hoist's rated safe working load before we hand it over.
How often does a ceiling hoist need servicing?
At least once a year, including a load test, under AS/NZS ISO 10535 and the manufacturer's instructions. A hoist that works all day may need it more often — the manufacturer's schedule decides. We book the next inspection when we hand the hoist over.
What is a hearing loop, and does my practice need one?
A hearing loop sends sound from a microphone straight to hearing aids switched to their T setting, cutting out the background noise of a busy waiting room. The NCC requires hearing augmentation in some rooms and buildings; a counter loop at reception is the quickest improvement for any practice where patients check in at a desk.
Can you automate the front door of a home?
Yes. A swing-door operator opened by a remote, a wall button or a touchless sensor — often paired with a video intercom and an electric strike, so the door can be answered and opened from a bed or a chair. We wire it, set the opening speed and force, and show you the manual release before we leave.

We couldn’t be happier with the work and service provided by Bioni Electrical and Islam in particular. He has completed a number of jobs around our home and every time the quality of his work and attention to detail have been outstanding. He installed a new antenna, replaced and upgraded lights throughout the house, installed garden lighting in the backyard and carried out all the electrical work required when we converted a garage into a music studio. He also recently helped us with the installation of a heated towel rail. What really impressed us was not only the quality of the workmanship but how functional, neat and well thought-out everything was. He was reliable, professional, knowledgeable and always took the time to make sure the job was done properly. We have been extremely impressed with the level of service and would have no hesitation recommending Bioni Electrical to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled electricians. We will definitely be using their services again in the future.

Recently had Bioni install an alarm system at our business and couldn't be happier. Andrew and the crew turned up on time, worked cleanly, and took the time to walk me through exactly how everything works before they left. No mess, no pressure, and the pricing was upfront with no surprises. It's been running perfectly since. Would recommend to anyone looking to secure their place!
