We walk every controlled door with you — construction, frame condition, egress requirements, existing locks — and map who needs access to what, and when. Free within 100 km of Caringbah.
Design & itemised quote
You get a door-by-door schedule: controller, readers, locking hardware, request-to-exit devices and cabling for each opening, itemised ex-GST, with the credential mix — card, mobile, biometric — priced clearly.
Installation
Controllers mounted in secure enclosures with battery backup, readers and locks fitted to each door with the correct fail mode, door operators installed where automation is in scope, and cabling run in labelled containment.
Commissioning & handover
Every door is tested through its full cycle — valid credential, invalid credential, request-to-exit, power fail — then we build your cardholder database, train your administrators and hand over documentation plus the CCEW for the electrical work.
Optional maintenance
Scheduled servicing keeps locking hardware aligned, door operators within safe force limits, controller batteries fresh and firmware current — the difference between a system that lasts and one that fails door by door.
Compliance & licensing
Bioni Security & Electrical holds NSW Security Master Licence 000108088 and NSW Electrical Contractor Licence 35018C. Controllers, readers, lock power supplies and any new circuits are installed by the same licensed contractor, and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) is issued for the licensed electrical work.
Electronic locking is designed around each door's role in the building: exit paths keep free egress, fail-safe and fail-secure modes are chosen against fire and evacuation requirements, and automatic pedestrian doors are set up with accessibility and safe operation in mind. Where a door forms part of a required exit, we confirm the locking approach before anything is ordered — not after it's on the wall.

A warehouse in Taren Point
A distribution business in Taren Point had one roller door, three PIN pads sharing a single code, and no record of who had been in the building on any given night. Staff turnover meant the code was effectively public. We installed an Inner Range Integriti system with proximity and mobile credentials across five doors — main entry, warehouse, office, server room and the drivers' door — plus an interface to the roller shutter.
Each staff member now badges in on their own credential, the server room is restricted to two people, and the roller shutter only operates for authorised drivers during business hours. What moves the price
Access control is priced door by door, and every quote is itemised ex-GST. The main drivers:
- Door count — each controlled opening carries a reader, lock, request-to-exit device and cabling, so doors drive the price more than anything else
- Locking hardware — a basic electric strike, a monitored maglock and an electric mortise lock are very different line items, and the door's construction often dictates the choice
- Controller platform — Bosch AMC2 suits smaller sites; Inner Range Integriti and Gallagher carry more capability and cost accordingly
- Credential type — proximity cards are cheapest; mobile credentials usually carry licensing; biometric readers cost more per door
- Door automation — adding a sliding or swing operator to a pedestrian door is its own scope of hardware and safety setup
- Cabling and building fabric — riser access, ceiling space and the distance from each door back to the controller

- How long does an access control installation take?
- A single door can be done in a day; a five-to-ten door commercial site typically runs one to two weeks including commissioning and administrator training. We stage the work so the site keeps operating throughout.
- Can I start small and add doors later?
- Yes — that's the normal path. We size the controller with spare capacity so extra doors, lifts or alarm zones become an add-on, not a rebuild. The door schedule in your quote shows exactly what expansion costs look like.
- Do strata buildings need approval for access control?
- Common-property doors usually need an owners-corporation resolution before work starts. We provide the door schedule and system description that make the motion straightforward, and we work with strata managers across the Shire and St George regularly.
- Can access control integrate with CCTV and intercoms?
- Yes. Access events can tag camera footage, intercoms can release controlled doors, and lockdown can drive both at once. Integriti and Gallagher both integrate with the major video management platforms, so we design the integration up front.
- What happens to the doors in a power failure?
- It's a design decision made per door: fail-safe locks release, fail-secure locks hold, and battery backup carries the controller through short outages. Exit paths keep free egress either way — that's checked at commissioning, not assumed.
