A CCTV system is only as good as the two decisions made before a single cable is run: where the cameras point, and where the footage goes. We start with both. On the site visit we walk entries, driveways, loading docks and blind corners with you, work out what each camera has to prove — a face at the gate, a plate at the boom, an overview of the yard — and pick the camera type to match: turrets for entries, bullets for long fence lines, multi-sensor units where one pole has to cover four directions, PTZ only where someone will actually drive it.

We walk the site with you — entries, approaches, lighting at night, existing cabling paths — and agree what each camera position has to achieve. Free within 100 km of Caringbah.
Design & itemised quote
You get a camera schedule and an itemised ex-GST quote: every camera, the recorder, drives sized to your retention target, switching and cabling runs listed line by line. No allowances hiding surprises.
Installation
Cables run and terminated to standard, cameras aimed and focused on site, the recorder configured with per-camera recording schedules and motion/analytics rules that suit the scene.
Commissioning & handover
We verify every view at day and night, set up remote access on your phones, label everything, and hand over passwords, network documentation and the electrical certification.
Optional maintenance
A service plan keeps lenses clean, firmware patched, drives healthy and retention verified — so the footage is there the day you actually need it.
Compliance & licensing
Bioni Security & Electrical holds a NSW Security Master Licence and NSW Electrical Contractor Licence 35018C — the camera work and the electrical work that powers it are carried out and certified by the same licensed contractor, with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) issued where licensed electrical work is performed.
Placement is designed to respect the NSW Surveillance Devices Act and your neighbours: cameras cover your property and approaches, not private areas of adjoining homes. For workplaces we advise on signage and footage-handling obligations so the system helps you rather than creating a privacy problem.

A strata block in Caringbah
An owners corporation came to us after a run of mail-room thefts and car-park damage the old analogue system couldn't resolve — four cameras, one dead, footage too soft to identify anyone. We reused the existing conduit paths where they were sound, ran new Cat6 where they weren't, and installed eight IP turrets covering the lobby, mail room, both car-park levels and the two pedestrian gates.
The recorder was sized for 30 days' retention, the strata manager and two committee members got app access with their own logins, and the building manager now exports incident clips himself instead of calling a technician. Total downtime for residents: none — the old system kept recording until the new one was verified.
What moves the price
Every CCTV quote is itemised ex-GST, so you can see exactly what moves the number. The main drivers:
- Camera count and type — a fixed turret costs less than a multi-sensor or PTZ; resolution and low-light performance step the price within each type
- Cabling runs — distance, ceiling access and whether existing conduit can be reused matter more than most people expect
- Recorder and storage — retention period and camera resolution set the drive sizing
- Analytics — ANPR and object recognition need suitable cameras and licences
- Site access — height (EWP hire), trenching for detached buildings, or after-hours installation windows
- Brand tier — a Dahua/VIP Vision build and an AXIS/Avigilon build do the same job at different price points; we quote the tier that fits the risk

- How long is footage kept?
- We size storage to your retention needs — commonly 30 days, longer where required. We'll quote the recorder and drives to suit.
- Do you offer number-plate recognition (ANPR)?
- Yes. ANPR is available on supported camera/analytics platforms for carparks, gates and site entries — it can also trigger boom gates and access events.
- Can I view the cameras on my phone?
- Yes — remote viewing on iOS and Android is standard on every system we install. We configure it securely at handover rather than exposing the recorder directly to the internet.
- Can you reuse my existing cameras or cabling?
- Often. Sound coax can sometimes carry IP over adapters and existing conduit paths save real money on cabling. We assess what's reusable at the site visit and quote both ways if it's line-ball.
- Do I need strata or council approval for CCTV?
- Owner-occupied houses generally don't. Strata buildings usually need a committee or general-meeting resolution for common-property cameras — we provide the camera schedule and plans that make that approval easy.
- How long does a typical installation take?
- A 4–6 camera home system is usually a day; a strata or commercial site runs two to five days depending on cabling access. We confirm the schedule with the quote.
- Why use a licensed installer instead of DIY kits?
- Placement, focus and night performance are where DIY kits fall down — and any 240 V work legally requires a licensed electrician in NSW. You also get certified cabling, a secured network setup and one number to call when something needs attention.
